Toad Tuning 2004, April 18th


Toads are singing at the bog. It is mating season for the american toad. We were lucky enough to catch terry giving mini-lectures on distinguishing male toads from females and about their mating. American toads actually join and become a part of each other when they mate. The male attaches himself to the female's armpit to fertilize the 5000 eggs that she is carrying. If you were to separate the two during mating, you would rip part of the females armpit. come out soon to catch the males singing.
