Map of the Bog


Students will use the printable map to locate the different habitats on the map. Students will use this map to complete subsequent projects. They will use the map key provided to read the map and obtain information.

What You Will Need:
Print out of the map of Cedar Bog (found below)
Definitions of the habitats.

Objectives:

  • Students will use a map key to locate places on a map.
  • Students will use cardinal and intermediate directions to read a map.
  • Students will identify characteristics of an animal habitat.

Ohio Science Outcomes:

  • Grade 4 - #1 - Create and/or use categories to organize a set of objects, organisms, or phenomena.
  • Grade 6 - #14 - Trace the transmission of energy in a small, simple ecosystem and/or identify roles of organisms in the energy movement of an ecosystem.
  • Grade 9 - #13 - Trace the flow of energy and/or interrelationships of organisms in an ecosystem.
