Cedar Bog Teacher Student Pages
The pages here are for use in classroom and home situations by teachers, parents, and students. It is hoped that these projects will allow a greater understanding of Cedar Bog to develop.
Each activity has been correlated with the Ohio Science Outcomes for Grades 4, 6, and 9. Of course, the activities will meet many more outcomes than those listed and they are adaptable to many learning levels. Cross-curricular outcomes met by the activities are not posted.
To complete the activities you will find directions, printable pages, objectives and learning outcomes, and a list of the plants and animals found at the Bog. At present, the list provides the common and scientific names the animals and plants. When research is required for completion of the activities, please use any resources you have available and keep checking back with us!
Technical data was to be collected and displayed at the Cyber-Bog site, but that site is no longer in operation. On our pages, a map of Cedar Bog and a dictionary of wetland terms is available. Also provided is a list of literature to help you teach the wetlands habitats.
If you plan to visit Cedar Bog, a survey of the Bog is included to help you provide closure for the things seen and learned.
Feel free to use and adapt any of the activities here. We hope you will find them useful and enjoyable!
