This year's Skunk Cabbage Walk was a great success. A handful of us gathered on Leap Day, February 29th. The weather was beautiful - warm and gorgeous blue skies. The skunk cabbage was bountiful and we even got a glimpse at the first Red Cup Fungus, early since it normally blooms later in March.
As always, Terry provided a wealth of information about the bog that seemed tailored for everyone from the oldest to the youngest on the walk.
This picture has Terry discussing buds, nodes, and leaves with the group. |
