This page provides access to photo journals of events that occurred at Cedar Bog. It includes celebrations like the historical marker ceremony, diaries like the creation of the educational center, and educational journals of prairie burns and other management events at the bog.
2009 Educational Center Grand Opening
The open house was a huge success. There were local artists with their work for sale, tours through the bog the entire day, and thanks to some very wonderful supporters of Cedar Bog an endless supply of homemade cookies that everyone was able to enjoy. We had almost 700 people walk through the doors on Saturday to see the new Educational Center and Cedar Bog. About 50 early birds arrived for a bird walk with Jim McCormac. Despite the size of the crowd he was about to call in several birds along with those they spotted along the walk.
There is all new signage throughout the bog that provides much more information about why we are special and the features at the bog. All of the displays are also in the building now. Pictures below do not have the displays.
OHS provided a dedication to Terry Jaworski for his 30 years of dedication to the bog. A plaque will be in the building to memorialize him. |
