Brown Snake: storeria dekayi


 

Eastern Garter Snake: Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis

This is a very common snake at Cedar Bog, especially in wet grassy fields. Their stripes are usually yellow but some of them at Cedar Bog have bold orange stripes. The pictures have examples of both. The two of the snake with orange stripes are from Cedar Bog. The others are from Greene Co. Ohio. You can click on any of the thumbnails to view a larger image.

Northern Water Snakes are at Cedar Bog. The streams at Cedar Bog are too cold for water snakes, but they have been seen them in the farm pond. Picture is from Greene Co. Ohio

Spotted Turtle: Clemmys guttata

Spotted turtles are one of the unique species that are found in Cedar Bog. These turtles are very elusive but have been seen in Cedar Run both north of and south of Woodburn Rd. These pictures are from Clark Co., OH and Greene Co., OH.
